Tulsa and international trainings will be led by PraiseMoves Director Laurette Willis.

Other Dates Available? When there are 3-5 requests for training in any of the CPI Trainer areas (CA, PA or IN/IL), they can hold a training. The best thing to do if you believe the Lord is calling you to train to be a Certified PraiseMoves Instructor is to send in an application to the PraiseMoves office and request to train in one of the 4 available areas (Tulsa, Sacramento area, Chicago or Pittsburgh). You may also contact the CPI Trainer in that area to see when the next training is scheduled (although we will list trainings here on the website as soon as we’re notified of them).

Other Locations Available? This depends on number of people who send in applications for training in other locations.

We can begin planning trainings in other areas when we receive applications from persons interested in attending trainings in these areas (usually 6-10 applications received to schedule a training. We used to set training dates in cities where there was interest, but when no one sent in their applications, we had to cancel the event – and we HATE to do that! So, this is the way we have to handle trainings at this time.).

NOTE: You may submit your application and when accepted, be eligible to attend any PraiseMoves Teacher Certification being offered – or be one step closer to having a training held in YOUR area.

NEW!!! PraiseMoves Correspondence Course for Applicants in Europe, Australia, Asia, Africa, and South America

Great news for future PraiseMoves Instructors outside of the U.S. and Canada!

For a limited time, we are testing a new PraiseMoves Correspondence Program to see how well this new concept will work with women and men who want to become CPIs but are unable to travel to North America in the near future. The Correspondence Program is open ONLY to applicants OUTSIDE of the U.S. and Canada.

Please see: Correspondence Program for details or visit http://www.praisemoves.com/correspondence.htm

Please order your materials AT LEAST 4-6 weeks before the certification weekend to allow ample time to study.

Are you interested in starting a Fitness Ministry? Does the idea of becoming one of the first Certified Instructors to offer a healthy, Christ-centered alternative to yoga interest you? If so, you may consider applying to become a Certified PraiseMoves Instructor (CPI).

Perhaps you and a friend would be interested in co-teaching a PraiseMoves class at your church or local gym. While most CPIs teach classes solo, some prefer to “team teach” with a friend who is also a CPI.

In view of the 15-20 MILLION people in the U.S. practicing yoga, and estimates of 50,000 to 100,000 yoga instructors in the U.S. alone – can you see the need for a Christian alternative to yoga? Imagine what several thousand PraiseMoves instructors will do!!!

We have all ages, shapes and sizes of PraiseMoves instructors – both women and men, from their early 20s to late 60s – and students from two-year old toddlers to 97 year-young seniors!

Below is a letter and application for people who would like to become a CPI (Certified PraiseMoves Instructor). If this interests you, read on – then pray and ask the Lord if He would have you apply to become a CPI. If you have questions not answered below, feel free to contact me. – Laurette

Hello Dear Friends!

Thank you for your interest in the PraiseMoves Teacher Certification Program!

I receive requests from throughout North America (and other countries) from people looking for Certified PraiseMoves Instructors and classes they can take. The release of the PraiseMoves DVD from Harvest House Publishers and recent magazine articles and television appearances have brought an increased awareness of this Christian alternative to yoga. (Note: Articles about PraiseMoves have appeared in Today's Christian Woman magazine, ChristianityToday.com, TIME magazine, Newsweek and Charisma – see the HOME page for links to these articles.)

Perhaps you know of others at your church or in your community who would be interested in starting a Fitness Ministry or earning a nice part-time income offering PraiseMoves classes at church, a local gym, community center, school, senior center or their home. Of course charging for PraiseMoves classes is optional, but when we consider that millions of people are spending billions of dollars on yoga classes, a dedicated PraiseMoves instructor is certainly worthy of his or her hire.

CNNMoney.com lists Fitness and Aerobic Instructors – one of the 11 “America’s Hot Jobs” where you have the edge: “Amidst growing concerns about obesity, fitness instructors help their clients slim down and shape up by instructing them and physical and exercise activities like yoga, aerobics and weightlifting.”

Article located at: http://msn.careerbuilder.com/Custom/MSN/CareerAdvice/511.htm?siteid=cbmsnhp4496&sc_extcmp=JS_js4_april05_home1&GT1=6396&cbRecursionCnt=1&cbsid=815fded902f64ae590e32ad332a8bdfb-166703790-te-1

The course consists of:

- The PraiseMoves Teacher Training DVD [75 minutes of training with Laurette and Betsy outlining correct breathing techniques, 19 basic PraiseMoves postures, flowing Scripture Sequences and the 22 PraiseMoves Alphabetics (based on the 22-letter Hebrew alphabet, following along with Psalm 119)].

- The PraiseMoves Training Manual (history and benefits of PraiseMoves; dynamics of stretching; Basic Anatomy; the Muscular System; Muscles and the PraiseMoves postures; outline of PraiseMoves workout; low-impact aerobic dance steps; Walkin' Wisdom Warm-ups; all PraiseMoves postures w/photos – plus all new PraiseMoves postures; Scripture Sequences; PraiseMoves Alphabetics w/corresponding scriptures; reviews, and sample exam).

- How to Start Your Own Fitness Ministry Manual - Everything you need to start your own PraiseMoves classes from finding students and workout spaces to finances and ministry.

- Teacher Certification Weekend - Held at various locations around the U.S. (locations are selected depending on applications received). Certifications are held during a One-day Certification “Blitz” usually from 9am-6pm. Classes outlining all aspects of PraiseMoves and the final exam will be given, followed by a Teacher Certification ceremony awarding Certificates of Completion.

For those who wish to host a PraiseMoves Certification Weekend in their city, we need to receive at least 5 applications from people willing to train in your area (people will need to send in applications before we can set a training date – we’ve made the mistake of setting dates for trainings in cities where there was interest, but when no one sent in their applications, we had to cancel the event – and we HATE to do that! So, this is the way we have to handle things for the time being).

Benefits:

- Only Certified PraiseMoves Instructors (CPI’s) may use the PraiseMoves® name (a registered trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office) and teach the copyrighted PraiseMoves material.

- Graduates of the training will be able to call themselves Certified PraiseMoves Instructors (CPI's), use the registered PraiseMoves trademark in their advertising and charge for group and private classes.

- CPIs and CPIs-in-Training receive 40% off all PraiseMoves products (videos, DVDs, books, etc.) which they may sell to their students at retail.

- From time-to-time we hold specials for more % off and contests for products, prizes, money and more!

- CPIs’ classes can be listed on the main PraiseMoves website free-of-charge so prospective students can find you.

- CPIs will have access to PraiseMoves devotionals and "Fitness for His Witness" Bible Studies which can be held in conjunction with PraiseMoves classes.

- CPIs will be able to offer the trademarked “Fitness for His Witness” seminar to area churches as a way to introduce them to their PraiseMoves classes. (See the “Fitness for His Witness” seminar listed on the Keynotes and Seminars link at: www.LauretteWillis.com).

- CPIs will be on the leading edge of a new wave of Christian fitness, countering the popular and deceptive practice of yoga and "new age" mysticism.

- Follow-up support and prayer are always available, as well as new routines, fellowship and continuing education workshops.

- Contests, special events, recognition and yearly reunions will be offered.

- CPIs have their own Forum of communication and support as a Yahoo Group.

- And perhaps most exciting of all, CPIs will have the opportunity to minister to the Body of Christ and those who are searching for Him.

- CPIs will also be able to offer the PowerMoves Kids program and PraiseMoves for Children program in their communities! (see www.PowerMovesKids.com)

- As Laurette develops other programs, CPIs will have access to them (such as Slow-Cadence Exercise, and the PraiseFast Weight Loss Program).

- CPIs are invited to join the CPI Forum - open only to CPIs – a Forum of sharing, advice, prayer, support and networking among all participating CPIs. Files of brochures, cards, Power Points, new PraiseMoves postures, etc. can be downloaded as files on the Forum, too.

The Fitness Ministry is a viable, much-needed ministry at a time when Christians match or exceed the general population in weight-related illnesses and disease. Also, churches are looking for new ways to attract people who are searching for Christ. Friendship Evangelism in the form of inviting an unsaved friend or neighbor to a fun "alternative to yoga" class is a wonderful way to introduce them to fellowship with believers. They'll hear the Gospel in a relaxed atmosphere. After the class questions can be answered, information made available, and prayer offered. I believe many will be won to the Lord.

Are there strict standards to become an instructor?

We are looking for mature, stable Christians who believe the Lord is calling them to be part of PraiseMoves.

While it would be helpful to you if you've taught exercise or some other sort of classes before, it's not necessary. These are skills you can learn. If you are not at your "ideal" weight yet, that's okay. We are great believers in "progress, not perfection." If you are overweight, however, it is important that you are working on getting to a healthy weight for you. People will be looking up to you as a PraiseMoves instructor and mentor. You’ll want to have a testimony of how the Lord has helped you lose weight and become healthier – a testimony of how PraiseMoves has assisted you in reaching your goals would also be good. So, if you have a desire to share PraiseMoves with others and believe God is calling you to step out, c'mon and step up!

You will need to be CPR-certified. This can be done in your hometown or nearest large city. Call your local hospital or the American Heart Association to find out about CPR training in your area (fees run anywhere from $25-60 for certification). If you already have an up-to-date card, please make a copy of it and submit it with your application.

Vital: As a CPI or CPI-in-Training, it is important that you notify us of any changes to address, email and phone number so we can contact you. News organizations and magazines often contact us for interviews, and some have visited CPI classes. We need to be able to contact you if such an opportunity arises. There are also changes and additions to PraiseMoves postures and programs which would be helpful to you and your students. Updates are sent out periodically, and are also available on the CPI Forum group on Yahoo, open to all CPIs.

To become a Certified PraiseMoves Instructor

Two options:

1. Full payment with application (normally $325.00, save $30) $295 for Training materials and Certification weekend training.

2. Pay in two installments ($195 with application and $130 balance received no later than 2 weeks BEFORE Certification weekend training).

3. PraiseMoves Correspondence Program (only for those outside of U.S. and Canada) is $325, payable only in U.S. funds via mail, phone (918-458-1800) or PayPal to willis2 at tah-usa.net .

* Yearly renewal on your Certification anniversary is $125.00 to keep your credentials and benefits current. The second year, your yearly renewal fee reduces to only $75 per year.

* Every two years CPIs are expected to attend at least one Certification Weekend or PraiseMoves-sponsored workshop to keep up-to-date on the latest PraiseMoves postures and keep their skills fresh. There will be no charge for attending a standard PraiseMoves Certification Training.

* Later in 2008 we will have another option available for CPIs unable to attend a PraiseMoves recertification event. Details will be available in the Fall of 2008.

The CPI who charges for classes may earn their enrollment amount back with the first series of classes they teach. For example: 25 students @ $5 per class (estimate) for 8 weekly classes = $1,000.00; 10 students @ $8 per class for 6 weeks = $480.00. Of course, not everyone will earn the same amount. Some choose to give classes on a donation-only basis; others will have smaller enrollments while some CPIs may choose to charge more for classes. Some CPIs who teach PraiseMoves classes at their local church donate or share enrollment fees with their church for a missionary fund, youth trip or special project. Some who teach at their local YMCA or fitness center are guaranteed a certain amount per class no matter how many students attend. To keep finances in perspective, consider that yoga teachers generally charge $5-20 per class, depending on the area of the country. Among CPIs, the focus tends to be more on the rewards of ministry and less on the financial compensation of teaching classes. This is one of the reasons we recommend you pray to ensure that the Lord is calling you to become a Certified PraiseMoves Instructor. If you are considering becoming a CPI because you imagine you can earn a lot of money, your focus is on the wrong thing.

If you would like to apply to become a Certified PraiseMoves Instructor (CPI), please copy and print out the application below and mail it with your full or partial payment to:

REFUND POLICY
All Refunds and/or credits will be issued in U.S. Dollars only. Included in the registration fee is a $50 deposit which is non-refundable for those who ARE accepted to train. If for some reason one is NOT accepted to train to become a CPI at this time, ALL monies will be promptly refunded less a $15.00 processing fee with a letter of explanation.

No refunds will be issued if cancellation is 14 days or less prior to the training weekend one has signed up to attend. Instead, a credit for a PraiseMoves Teacher Certification weekend will be issued and is valid for 12 months.

If requesting a refund, manuals and training DVD must be returned. If they are unmarked, we may be able to send them to another CPI-in-Training. If marked, the cost of the manual(s) and/or DVD will be deducted from the refund. We’re sure YOU wouldn’t want to receive a marked or previously highlighted Training Manual, would you?

We ask that you prayerfully consider whether or not you are being called by the Lord to this ministry before submitting your application. Do you feel the Lord is calling you to do this, and are you willing to follow-through on your commitment? “For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first, and count the cost, whether he has sufficient to finish it?” Luke 14:28.

We take very seriously the calling to become a Certified PraiseMoves Instructor (CPI). It is more than an exercise certification. It is a calling similar to that of becoming a pastor or ordained evangelist. Therefore, we consider prayerfully everyone who applies to become part of the PraiseMoves Fitness Ministry.

If someone who has committed to become a CPI and has been accepted by the ministry staff requests a refund and later decides to reapply, they may not be accepted unless there were dire extenuating circumstances necessitating their withdrawal from the program.

This may seem harsh, but we do take Fitness Ministry very seriously, are accountable to other ministerial organizations for our actions, and strive to uphold the integrity of the ministry for all CPIs and the persons to whom they minister.

Refunds will be sent 2-4 weeks from the time we receive any returned training materials. Policies are subject to change without notice.

ATTENDANCE:
Full attendance at the Teacher Certification weekend is required to receive credit and certification. For example, if the training times are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., one is expected to be at the training from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. If a CPI-in-training arrives late or leaves early, they may have to take the training again at a later time. Since the training “Blitz” is presented in a compact format over a short amount of time, all parts of the training are important (and what is “caught” is often of equal or greater value than what is “taught”). Please consider this when making your travel arrangements.

Since this is a rigorous one-day training, it is important that you arrive the day before the training in order to be well-rested for the full-day event.

For fun and fellowship, we like to have dinner together after the training at a local restaurant to get to know one another a little better. While we would LOVE to have you join us for this, it is not mandatory if your travel requirements necessitate your leaving directly after the training. Lasting friendships often begin during trainings, and it’s great to network with other like-minded members of the Body of Christ. We hope you can join us!

Becoming a Certified PraiseMoves Instructor (CPI) means we will consider you part of the PraiseMoves

Ministry family. As such, it is important that we know something about you and that you agree with the

Statement of Faith as outlined below.

We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God to man, the infallible authoritative rule of faith and moral conduct.

We believe there is one God, existing eternally; and revealed in the Scriptures as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare: His virgin Birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His shed blood and substitutionary death on the cross for us, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His being on the right hand of God the Father and His soon-coming return in power and glory.

We believe in the lost condition of man to sin, and man's need for a Savior, and that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for eternal life in Christ.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the resurrection from the dead of the saved and the lost; that the Bible declares there is a real heaven to be gained as well as a literal hell from which we can choose to be saved (“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” Romans 10:9).

We believe in the Body of Christ – in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

I have read and understand the Statement of Faith and agree with it without mental reservation.
